This special evening was hosted in loving memory of our late Founder President, Mr. Bishnu Wagle, who was not just a leader but a cherished member of our family. His vision and compassion continue to inspire everything we do, and this cause remains deeply close to our hearts.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, attendees, and well-wishers, we successfully raised funds for the Disabled Service Association in Karyabinayak, Lalitpur, Nepal. Your kindness has made a real difference.

A special thank you to Mr Ayush Adhikari, CODEC-UK executive member, for personally delivering the funds, which helped provide summer blankets, essential food rations, and direct support to 70 children living with various disabilities.

We would also like to express our appreciation to Mrs Rukmini Thapa, our valued CODEC-UK member, for attending and supporting this meaningful cause.

Since September 2023, Codec-UK has been running an ongoing scholarship programme to support bright and deserving students from underprivileged backgrounds in Nepal.

​

To date, the programme has provided scholarships to eight students from seven different schools across Nepal. The students were selected because of their strong academic performance, potential, and determination to continue their education despite financial challenges.

​

Each student receives a scholarship of NPR 30,000 per academic year. The financial assistance helps reduce the burden of educational costs and enables these talented young people to continue their studies with greater security and confidence.

​

The programme reflects Codec-UK’s commitment to widening access to education and supporting young people who have the ability and motivation to succeed, but whose family circumstances may otherwise limit their opportunities.

​

Since the programme began in September 2023, we have continued to monitor and support the students' progress. We are particularly encouraged by their academic performance and commitment to their education, and we hope that this support will help them achieve their ambitions and contribute positively to their families and communities in the future.

CODEC-UK is pleased to announce that our Annual Seaside Trip will resume this year, following a two-year break due to the pandemic. The journey will take place on July 23, 2022 to Bournemouth Beach.

We are very proud of everyone from our community that represented us at the Gurkha Cup on the 4th June 2022.

​

In collaboration with Project Sambhav, we collectively raisied funds to buy stationery and books for under-privileged children in Nepal. These were mainly patients from the paediatric ward at AMDA hospital in Butwal (non-profit hospital we have worked with in the past).

We focused on particularly giving to people who come from low-income backgrounds and rural vicinities of Butwal for treatment in the city.

Nepali new years charity event with dinner and an evening full of entertainment!

Join us to celebrate the new year with your family & friends and raise donations to support Ukraine. All the donations raised will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Appeal. As we all know, Ukraine is facing a humanitarian crisis. Millions of people have fled their homes, thousands of people are deprived of basic needs (like food and shelter) and medical care.  With the ongoing violence, an enormous number of people urgently need our help right now.

The Food Aid project was inspired by the initiative taken by the Nepalese temple, Pashupatinath in Southeast London. With the aim of providing relief to the Nepalese students and Nepalese elderly, who were facing difficulties due to the global pandemic Coronavirus (COVID-19), Community Development Center -UK (CODEC-UK) organised a food distribution support project. Over 50 students and elderly were provided food aid during this project.

The purpose of this project is to reduce isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is planned to be achieved via video conferencing, online support, and volunteer support in accordance with the government guidelines. CODEC aims to educate the elderly on how to use online video conferencing platforms such as zoom or Facebook messenger to increase interaction amongst family/friends. They will be encouraged to join yoga sessions, film screenings, health talks, and other activities to promote good mental and physical health.

CODEC UK collaborated with the Let Nepal Breathe campaign to help supply urgent medical equipment to those in need, focusing mainly on vulnerable communities in Nepal.

Let Nepal Breathe is a UK-based initiative for urgent COVID Crisis Relief in Nepal that aim to:

- Work with frontline workers in Nepal to provide practical on-demand equipment and PPE

- To leverage Nepalese overseas presence in order to influence large foreign organizations to send aid

- Connect individuals and communities who want to help and expedite the process
